Irfan Wahab Khan – Chairman
Mr. Irfan Wahab Khan is currenly the CEO of Telenor Pakistan since 2016 and also the EVP, Head of Emerging Asia cluster Telenor Group, Chairman of Telenor Myanmar, Chairman Telenor Microfinance Bank, and Director to the Grameenphone Board. Prior to that, Mr. Irfan served as Chief Marketing Officer/Deputy CEO of Telenor Pakistan for three years. Since joining Telenor in 2004, he has held a number of executive positions across Telenor Group including Executive Vice President Telenor Pakistan, CEO Telenor LDI, Group Vice President Devices & Distribution Telenor Group and Chief Marketing Officer Telenor Pakistan. Mr. Khan holds a Masters degree in Mobile and Personal Communications from University of Westminster London UK. He also holds qualifications in Financial Management from Harvard Business School, executive diploma in Marketing from London Business School and Advance Management from INSEAD and a Qualified Board of Director from IMD, Switzerland. He is also a lifetime Alumni of INSEAD.
Henning Thronsen – Director
Henning Thronsen is currently working as Director and Head of Project & Corporate Finance, Group Treasury function. He is supporting and controlling all Business Units (BUs) in treasury related issues including Capital Structure, Financing, Risk Management, Governance, Working Capital Management, restructuring, M&A and project support etc. In addition to this, Henning serve as a Director of Telenor Microfinance Bank Limited (formerly Telenor Microfinance Bank Limited). He is involved in relation to the build-up of Financial Services throughout the Group. He also supporting and controlling other Group investments like Vimpelcom, Amedia (a Norwegian media group) and various JVs etc.
He has extensive project leadership competence from many treasury related and cross-functional projects within Telenor Group. Henning participated in many Telenor Group – Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A ) projects (Treasury representative) and served as a board member in Telenor Eiendom Holding AS (since 2009) (Telenor’s property company). He has more than twenty years’ experience from treasury and finance related positions in large international corporates. Furthermore he has served as CFO for five years before joining Telenor and has held various board positions.
Mr. Yi Zhou – Director
Mr. Yi Zhou is the CFO of Ant Group’s International Business Group. Since joining Ant Group in 2015, Mr. ZHOU took a number of leadership roles in finance including the head of finance, Alipay Payment Business Group and the head of finance, Digital Finance Business Group. Mr. ZHOU also led the tax team of Ant Group before taking up the CFO role in International Business Group. Mr. ZHOU sits on the board of a number of key entities of Ant Group in Singapore and other jurisdictions. He is also a supervisory board member of Ant Bank (Macao) Limited. Prior to joining Ant Group, Mr. ZHOU is a partner at Ernst & Young. He has more than 20 years of professional experience in business and tax advisory in China, Hong Kong and New York. Mr. ZHOU graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University majoring in Electricity Engineering and minoring in Economics. He is a Member of the Chinese Institute of Certified Tax Agent.
Zhi Xian Li – Director
Mr. Li joined Ant Group in December 2016, where he is Country Manager for Pakistan and some other emerging markets for local partnership and joint venture management. He is also responsible for Ant Group’s joint venture in Telenor Microfinance Bank. Before joining Ant Group, Mr. Li held various leadership roles at China UnionPay, most recently as General Manager of Africa, setting up the company’s branch offices including in South Africa, Morocco, and Ghana between 2012 and 2016. Prior to that, he also worked in China UnionPay Middle East office and domestic business division. Mr. Li graduated with a Master of Engineering degree in Computer Science from the Ocean University of China.
Dr. Amjad Waheed – Independent Director
Amjad Waheed is currently working as Chief Executive Officer of NBP Fund Management Limited and serves as a Director at Telenor Microfinance Bank Limited. Prior to joining NBP Funds, he served as the Head of Equity Funds & Portfolios in Riyad Bank Asset Management Dept, Saudia Arabia. He holds an MBA, PhD & CFA ceritification from USA. Amjad has more than 30 years of experience in investment banking positions involving leading teams across various financial organizations.
Mr. Kashif Ahmed – Director
Mr. Kashif Ahmed is the Acting President and Chief Executive Officer of Telenor Microfinance Bank. Before joining Telenor Microfinance Bank, Kashif Ahmed was the Chief Compliance Officer at MCB Islamic Bank Limited. Kashif is an accomplished Chartered Accountant with over 19 years of banking experience in Pakistan with demonstrable success in areas of compliance, operations and audit. He has extensive expertise in leading banking operations, processes, regulatory engagement and compliance. Mr. Kashif is a registered member of ICAP with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Karachi.
